As per researchers report the rate of super infection around the world may be higher than previously thought. Dr. Anthony Head of the national institute of allergy and infections diseases said “superinfection is sobering”. That means that although you can mount an adequate response against one virus, the body still does not have the capability to protect you against new infection. Dr. Anthony further says that “I think super infection most of the time is transient and is not detected. It may be that you are frequently infected than you think but you are able to take care of it.” The general indications includes formation of papillomatous nodules that tends to ulcerate, itching, lymphatic obstruction, immunocompromised patients, invasive sinusitis, bony necrosis, subcutaneous abscesses, keratitis, lung masses, osteomyelitis, mycotic arthritis, intramuscular endocarditis, brain abscess or chronic meningitis.
