General Indication
Dysentery may be defined as diarrhoea containing mucous or blood. Although there are several organisms which can cause dysentery but out of all Shigella are the most important. Different studies have been done to determine how dysentery is spread. The most likely mode of transmission are contaminated water and food. Dysentery is a disease involving the inflammation of the lining of the large intestine. The inflammation cause stomach pain and diarrhoea. In some cases symptoms of vomiting and fever are also quite pronounced. People suffering from dysentery lose important salts and fluids from the body. This can be fatal if the body dehydrates. Dysentery is most likely a bacterial or viral infection with the symptoms of abdominal pain tenesmus, persistent desire to empty the bowel, dysentery with mucous or blood, fever, loss of appetite, restlessness, sleeplessness, abdominal distention, rapid breathing, slow pulse, patient look pale and emaciated.
Dosage
Adult: 10-15 drops, children half of the same, 3-4 times a day in some water or as prescribed by a Homoeopathic doctor.
