The term prostatitis actually encompasses four disorders: Acute bacterial prostatitis, Chronic bacterial prostatitis, Chronic prostatitis syndrome and Asymptomatic inflammatory prostatitis. The symptoms of prostatitis are non-specific, sometime the patient may experience no symptoms, and sometimes symptoms are so sudden and severe that patient has to seek emergency advice. Obstructive urinary tract symptoms including frequency, urgency, dysuria, nocturia, hesitancy and incomplete voiding.
